STARS was treated to a very special event at the Bridgeville Rifle & Pistol Club this past Saturday 4/17/2021. After getting a legislative lesson from Jeff Hague, the president of the Delaware State Sportsmen's Association on the right to bear arms in Delaware and the threats to our 2nd Amendment (SB3, SB6 and HR 125),
the group received basic firearms safety from Erin Chronister from the Well Armed Woman - Southern Delaware chapter,
followed by going out to the range and getting hands on with various pistols and rifles.
To top off the day, each member was able to run through an International Defensive Pistol Associate (IDPA) course, with multiple targets and multiple positions with live ammunition with expert instruction and safety measures from the Bridgeville Rifle & Gun Club, Erin Chronister, Sam Chick from the Delaware Young Republicans and Kim Petters from the Women's Defensive Coalition.
We are so grateful to these individuals and these groups that support STARS and all Delaware youth to become more familiar with basic firearms safety and defensive shooting so we can better understand our right to bear arms and the current threats to this vital amendment.
